3. Services
The Firm provides legal services in the areas of will preparation, probate and estate administration, and estate planning and trusts. Services are available to individuals and families resident in Malaysia. All legal work is conducted in accordance with Malaysian law and the rules of professional conduct issued by the Malaysian Bar.
This website provides general information about our services. Nothing on this website constitutes legal advice and should not be relied upon as such. Legal advice is provided only in the context of a formal engagement.
4. Engagement and Instructions
A formal legal engagement begins when you provide written instructions and we issue an Engagement Letter. The Engagement Letter sets out the scope of work, fee arrangements, and any specific terms applicable to your matter. Work will not commence until the Engagement Letter is signed by the client.
5. Fees and Payment
Fee estimates are provided in writing before any work begins. Fees comply with the Solicitors Remuneration Order where applicable. Standard service fees are:
- Will Preparation: from RM 190
- Probate and Estate Administration: from RM 630
- Estate Planning and Trust Advice: from RM 415
Disbursements (court fees, stamp duties, and other third-party costs) are charged in addition to professional fees and are disclosed before they are incurred. Payment is due as set out in the Engagement Letter. Unpaid fees may attract interest in accordance with applicable law.
6. User Responsibilities
Clients are responsible for:
- Providing accurate and complete information relevant to their matter
- Notifying the Firm promptly of any changes in their circumstances
- Providing identity documents required for anti-money-laundering compliance
- Paying fees on time as agreed
The Firm is not responsible for delays or errors arising from incomplete or inaccurate instructions.

All content on this website, including text, design, and structure, is owned by or licensed to Legasi Chambers. You may view content for personal, non-commercial purposes. Reproduction or distribution of website content without our written permission is not permitted.
Documents prepared by the Firm for a client remain the property of the client once fees are paid in full.
8. Confidentiality
The Firm maintains client confidentiality in accordance with the Legal Profession Act 1976 and Malaysian Bar rules. All information you share in the course of an engagement is held in confidence and used only for the purpose of your matter or as required by law.
9. Disclaimers
Legal outcomes depend on the specific facts of each matter and cannot be assured in advance. The Firm provides professional advice based on current Malaysian law but does not represent that any particular outcome will be achieved.
Website content is provided for general information only and may not reflect the most recent legislative changes. We recommend contacting us directly before relying on any information on this website.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by law, the Firm's liability in connection with any matter is limited to the professional fees paid for that matter. The Firm is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from delays, errors, or omissions beyond its reasonable control.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, gross negligence, or any other liability that cannot be limited under Malaysian law.
11. Termination
Either party may terminate a legal engagement by giving reasonable notice in writing. The Firm reserves the right to cease acting where instructions are unclear, payment is outstanding, or continuing the engagement would conflict with professional obligations. In such circumstances, we will take reasonable steps to protect your interests before withdrawing.
12. Dispute Resolution
These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. Any dispute arising from an engagement will first be addressed informally. If the matter cannot be resolved, it may be referred to the Malaysian Bar's Disciplinary Board or pursued through the courts of Malaysia, with the courts of Penang having jurisdiction unless otherwise agreed.
13. General Provisions
If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full effect. Our failure to enforce any right under these terms does not constitute a waiver of that right. These terms may be updated from time to time and the current version is always available on this page.
