WHAT CLIENTS SAY
In Their Own Words
"When my father passed away unexpectedly, I had no idea where to start with his estate. The team here walked us through the letters of administration process step by step, in language we could actually follow. It took time, but we always knew what was happening and why."
Tan Li Ying
George Town, Penang — June 2025
"I came in for a simple will and was relieved to find that the solicitor did not try to complicate things or upsell me on services I did not need. The document was ready quickly, the fee was exactly what was quoted, and the process felt very calm."
Rajesh Subramaniam
Butterworth, Penang — May 2025
"We used Legasi Chambers for probate after my mother's passing. The process was longer than I expected — but I was told that upfront, which I appreciated. The solicitor was always reachable and patient with my questions, even the ones I asked twice."
Nor Izzati Hamdan
Balik Pulau, Penang — April 2025
"We arranged a family trust through Legasi Chambers and found the whole experience straightforward. The solicitor explained each option clearly before recommending anything, and made sure both my husband and I understood the structure before we signed. We left feeling confident."
Wong Chui Ming
Tanjung Tokong, Penang — March 2025
"I had been putting off making a will for years because I assumed it would be complicated and expensive. This was neither. The consultation was relaxed, the fee was clearly set out in advance, and the whole thing was done in two visits. I wish I had done it sooner."
Kamarul Padzil
Kepala Batas, Penang — April 2025
"The estate planning session helped us think through things we had not considered — what happens to a jointly held property, how a trust would work for our youngest, and when to review the plan. It was not a quick meeting but it was worth the time."
Sunita Krishnamurthy
Air Itam, Penang — May 2025
CASE STUDIES
How Matters Have Come Together
WILL PREPARATION — PENANG, JUNE 2025
Situation
A couple in their fifties with two adult children and a young grandchild wanted to put a will in place. They had no existing arrangements and were uncertain about how to deal with a jointly held property and a family business interest.
Approach
We met with the couple twice. The first meeting covered their circumstances and what they hoped to achieve. The second appointment reviewed the draft will and addressed their questions. Both wills were executed at that session.
Outcome
Both clients left with signed wills and written confirmation of where the secure copies are held. Total process: three weeks from first contact. Straightforward, within the stated fee.
PROBATE ADMINISTRATION — PENANG, MARCH–MAY 2025
Situation
A son approached us after his mother passed away, leaving a valid will naming him as sole executor. The estate included a property title and several bank accounts. He had no legal background and was unsure what steps to follow.
Approach
We handled the probate application in full, corresponding with the High Court, the land office, and each financial institution. Progress was confirmed in writing at each stage, and the client was contacted before any significant step was taken.
Outcome
Grant of probate obtained. All assets transferred within ten weeks of engagement. The client was kept informed throughout and reported feeling that the process was manageable despite a difficult personal period.
ESTATE PLANNING — PENANG, APRIL 2025
Situation
A business owner in his early forties with three children, including one with a long-term health condition, wanted to arrange his estate so that provision for the child would continue beyond his lifetime.
Approach
We discussed trust structures that could hold and manage a portion of the estate for the benefit of the child over time. Options were explained at two unhurried meetings. A trust was drafted alongside a revised will, each coordinated with the other.
Outcome
A discretionary trust and updated will were executed. The client said he felt settled for the first time in years about the long-term arrangements for his child. Documents were completed within the agreed fee.
